The Founders

Qubit Consulting was founded in December 2005 to bring a fresh approach to Enterprise IT Consulting. Qubit's vision is to work differently with Business Stakeholders to solve their problems with practical, innovative solutions rather than focusing on and solving technology problems. Qubit's vision is to move from business requirement to deployed business service rapidly, predictably and repeatedly. Our founders are:

John Jones

John has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry in both Australia and the United Kingdom. Prior to Qubit, he worked for Sun Microsystems for a period of six years in a number of Senior Technical Leadership roles. John's most recent position was that of the Australia and New Zealand software CTO in the Client Solutions Organisation. In this capacity John was involved in both sales and delivery focusing specifically on SOA related activities. John's previous role at Sun was that of an Enterprise Architect; providing architectural leadership across a number of projects in any given account. John initially joined Sun's Java Centre and acted as a Senior Java Architect for 4 years.

John was a member of a number of Sun global groups, including the Customer Engineering Council and the SOA Sub-practice, amongst others. In addition John acted as a Sun media spokesperson and has contributed to a number of magazine and newspaper articles.

Andrew Hayes

Andrew has over 13 years of experience in Software Development, working in industries from Banking to Telecommunications to Government. For the last 7 years he has worked as an Enterprise Architect, specialising in solutions for the JEE (Java Enterprise Edition) platforms.

Recently, Andrew has been working freelance for clients such as RTA, CUSCAL, MLC and Tourism Australia. Prior to his contract work, Andrew was employed for 4 years in the Sun Microsystems Java Centre as a Senior Java Architect, developing IT strategy for Government Departments (South Australia Police and the West Australian Department of Finance), or leading projects for companies such as Qantas, Vodafone and Hutchison Telecoms.

Andrew has spoken at international conferences; participated in industry technology debates; and reviews JEE (and related technology) books and proposals prior to publication for Prentice Hall.
